Directions/Parking

The workshop will be held at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst.  Amherst is easily accessible from Interstate 91 in western Massachusetts.  The nearest airport is Bradley International Airport (BDL) at Windsor Locks (Hartford), Conn.
For more travel related as well as other logistical information, see http://umass.edu/umhome/visit_campus.html

Parking and finding the workshop

Parking is in the parking garage adjacent to the Campus Center.  Please park in the garage to avoid ticketing and towing.  Workshop participants will pick up a parking pass at on-site registration to discount the parking charge to $5 a day.

You will enter the parking garage on Level 3.  The parking garage exit is on level 4.  From the parking space, walk to level 2 and through the doorway marked "Concourse Entrance" and follow signs to the Campus Center Auditorium.

Personal Comfort

In June, the average daytime temperature in Amherst is 80 degrees F.  The Campus Center, where our workshop will be held, is air conditioned.  Lunches and the Wednesday dinner will be in the adjoining Student Union Ballroom, which is not air conditioned, so we suggest wearing layers of clothing for your comfort.  The Tuesday barbecue will be on the Campus Center patio unless the weather is inclement, in which case it will also be in the ballroom.

Special needs

The Campus Center is accessible to those who are physically challenged.  Be sure to let us know if you have special needs.
